On the other side of the story is Shambu Singh, presented as the heir to the wealthy family. Shambu is more gentle-hearted than his cruel uncle Ramesh. Shambu and Mahua's first encounter occurs through an unfortunate event. Shambu and Mahua initially dislike and even hate each other, but their destiny is marriage. Ramesh is to force Mahua into marriage, but Ramesh's first wife prevents the marriage by giving Mahua drugs, thus ensuring she marries Shambu instead.
