After the stop, a standoff with police ensued, lasting approximately an hour. The driver ultimately surrendered and was detained without force. During the search of the vehicle, officers discovered a dog and an unloaded pistol. No one was injured in the incident. Following his arrest, the driver was charged with evading arrest with a vehicle and assault on a law enforcement officer. In March 2026, the court issued its verdict. According to the Burnet County Court, the driver received ten years in prison for evading arrest with a vehicle and an additional ten years for assaulting a law enforcement officer. The sentences were imposed concurrently, in accordance with the terms of the verdict.
