Sharon Lyons Memorial Slide Show
Sharon Jo Harris was born on December 10, 1950, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Euelle Harris and Laura Alice Wilkett. She spent her early years in Poteau, OK and was the big sister to Ronnie Lee and Robbie Sue. They moved to Berryhill, OK in the fifth grade. Sharon was always a great student and was a regular on the honor roll. She was active in softball and cheerleading in these early years. She always had a heart for service. In school, she worked as a “bread girl” where she would volunteer to serve her fellow students their bread during lunch. In turn, she would receive her lunch for free which helped ease the financial burden on her family. At Berryhill High School, she met and fell in love with Jack Leon Lyons. Sharon was an office aid for the period before lunch. She would walk off campus to a nearby gas station and get a box of Cracker Jacks for them to share. Jack always gave her his “toy” from inside the box. They were married on July 14, 1967, in Noel, MO. When they moved in together, Jack discovered a box containing every single toy he had given her during all those lunches shared together. She gave birth to her first child Lori Gail that December. Lisa Michelle followed in November of 1968. They lived in a tiny home in Berryhill for these first few years. Jack worked as laborer while Sharon worked in home service. She had an active social life and surrounded herself with friends. During this time, she got pretty competitive in softball while Jack coached. In 1973 they moved to Tulsa and in January 1975 Jack D. was born. Sharon continued working in the service industry, continued playing softball, and started coaching her daughter’s softball teams with Jack. Not one to settle for just one sport, Sharon picked up volleyball and bowling. Her love of activity and sport was a constant throughout her life and she garnered enjoyment from the activity but just as much as the community she built throughout. Sharon also loved to fish and was very good at it. In 1984, she dedicated her life to Jesus Christ and became a member of Eastwood Baptist Church and quickly became active member. She sang in the choir, voiced puppets on Caraway Street, played on the church softball team, and was a fixture at Faith Week as a volleyball referee. In all, she was a member at Eastwood for over forty years. Family, faith, and friends were always so important to Sharon. Family vacations were annual traditions that were required. She was just as happy camping in the woods (where she could get plenty of fishing in) as she was at an amusement park riding roller coasters. Sharon was preceded in death by her mother Alice; her father Euelle, and her sister, Robbie Sue. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Jack; her two daughters, Lori and Lisa; her son, Jack D.; ten grandchildren, Krystal, Brittany, Layla, Kyley, Kristen, Michaela, Brandon, Mariah, Candace, and Luke; ten great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Aaron, Fletcher, Hunter, Presley, Anniston, Cody, Miles, Graham, and Jackie; and many other relatives and friends.
