Run the Race, Win the Challenge Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 NIV What does ‘Run the Race’ imply? Paul knows that many run but only one wins. Anyone that runs the race goes into training. But we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Bellevers must not just participate to win, but also to live intentionally with the goal of winning the crown that is not perishable. When we enlist ourselves to be the children of God and the so called 'soldier of God', we should aim to win. When we run the race, we have to be motivated to win this race of life. Key components to run the race: 1. We should undergo strict spiritual training through reading the Word of God, praying to Him, and joining fellowships. (1 Timothy 4:7-8& 2 Timothy 3;16 ) 2. We have to be purposeful in living. (Philippians 3:14) Key components to win the challenge: 1. Endurance/Perseverance- Hebrews 12:1-2 2. Removing Hindrances - Hebrews 12:1, 2 Timothy 2:22, James 4:7 Shedding burdens, unnecessary distractions, and sins that hinder us Submit yourselves to God. 3. Fixing our eyes on Jesus - Hebrews 12:2, Hebrews 3:1 Peace is not the absence of the problem, it comes from the Lord.
