Al RIFUGIO PEDROTTI partendo da Pradel - L'Angolo del Trekking di Giovanni Volpi

This second leg of my exploration of the Brenta Dolomites takes us to a destination of rare beauty: we reach the Tosa and Pedrotti refuges, overlooking the two peaks of Brenta Alta and Brenta Bassa. We complete the route with a final, short climb to Bocca di Brenta, the pass that divides the two peaks. From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Madonna di Campiglio, but more importantly, it's the starting point for the spectacular Bocchette Centrali via ferrata. This and other itineraries start at the two refuges, which are located at a hub of trails and via ferratas that allow you to ascend the entire Brenta group, eventually branching out to other sides. We set off together from Pradél, accessible by cable car from Molveno, and admire the intermediate stops at the Croz Dell'Altissimo and Selvata refuges before the final climb. The first, easy climb to Croz Dell'Altissimo is possible thanks to a trail full of spectacular sections carved into the rock. Among those who opened this trail in the early 1950s was Elia Longhi, a young man from Vicenza who died at just 19 during construction, and is remembered by a plaque.
