Lynn "Red" Williams joined the American Gladiators while they were on tour. The show needed someone that would act as a relief for the other Gladiators since the events were starting to take a toll on their bodies. His Gladiator name while on Tour was Panther, but when the TV show started he needed to change his name and that's how he ended up with Sabre.
