На лодке из Волги в Чёрное море | Андрей Старков | Ч.1
A motorboat trip from Volgograd to Gelendzhik – how about that?! The idea came about a year ago, and in October 2020, my friends Oleg Shlyakhov from Volgograd and Vitaly Kolisnichenko from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and I put it into practice. The voyage took place on my Alumacraft Competitor 185, powered by a Yamaha 200 motor. The boat was modified by the Kazan-based craftsmen at SpinchWorks. On October 3, 2020, two days later than planned due to strong winds on the Volga, we loaded up with provisions and supplies and set out from Volgograd for the first lock of the Volga-Don Canal. In the first part of the video, we'll navigate the entire canal, enter the Tsimlyansk Reservoir, and then sail through it. We'll spend the night before the lock in Tsimlyansk and then head out onto the Don. I'll answer a few popular questions: The canal is free. You just need to gather the necessary documents and submit an application in advance. I can't say how much fuel we burned; we haven't done any calculations. But it's not as much as you might think. At a cruising speed of 52-55 km/h, with a full load, fuel consumption is approximately 25-30 liters. The tank is 120 liters, plus we had four canisters with us. Before the sea crossing, we bought two more canisters in Rostov as spares. We refueled before heading out to Tsimla, in Tsimlyansk, in Rostov, and at the mouth of the Protoka River in Azov. That's all. We spent the night in the boat, and my friends camped in a tent on the shore a few times. I spent the entire expedition in the boat, with the exception of a stopover in Rostov and an overnight stay at the base at the mouth of the Sukhoi River. We cooked ourselves, right in the boat. We brought a gas stove and a JetBoil. A river radio is a must; phones won't do. We're constantly communicating with the canal dispatchers, and you need to stay in touch. In the end, navigating the canal took us three days. But it wasn't boring. Quite the contrary:) We passed the Tsimlyansk Reservoir at night. Before a storm. Never do that. It's a dangerous, wind-dependent body of water. Thanks to everyone who motivated, helped, monitored, and supported us!
