Bringing about many technical innovations at the time, the car was completely designed from the bottom up to reward the driver with handling, precision, power, and braking while delivering comfort and a smooth ride on the street. Innovations that came out during the MidYear era were independent suspension, a ladder-type frame, wind tunnel testing, 4-wheel disc brakes, and more. All in all, these were the right car, at the right time, built by the right people.
