N488 Oud Beijerland - Greup - Klaaswaal - Oudesluis - Numansdorp-Middelsluis | NL

The N488 is a former national road between Oud-Beijerland and Numansdorp, in the province of South Holland, in the southwest of the Netherlands. The road is located entirely on the island of Hoeksche Waard and used to provide a connection to Rotterdam and Antwerp via ferries as national road 19. In 1967, the parallel A29 motorway was completed, after which the old national road lost its function as a through route. In 2025, the N488 is still 4 kilometers long and forms a connection between the N489 near Greup and the N487 near Numansdorp. The N487 connects to the A29 in the south via the Numansdorp junction, the N489 connects to the A29 in the north via the Oud-Beijerland junction. The section between Oud-Beijerland and Greup is officially no longer part of the N488, but can be seen in the video. ================ De N488 is een voormalige Rijksweg tussen Oud-Beijerland en Numansdorp, in de provincie Zuid-Holland, in het zuidwesten van Nederland. De weg ligt in zijn geheel op het eiland Hoeksche Waard en gaf vroeger als Rijksweg 19 via veerponten aansluiting richting Rotterdam en Antwerpen. In 1967 kwam de parallel gelegen autosnelweg A29 gereed, waarna de oude rijksweg haar functie als doorgaande route verloor. Anno 2025 is de N488 nog 4 kilometer lang en vormt een verbinding tussen de N489 bij Greup en de N487 bij Numansdorp. De N487 geeft in het zuiden aansluiting op de A29 via aansluiting Numansdorp, de N489 geeft in het noorden aansluiting op de A29 via aansluiting Oud-Beijerland. Het gedeelte tussen Oud-Beijerland en Greup is officieel geen onderdeel meer van de N488, maar is wel te zien in de video.
