Heavy Rains Disrupt Normal Life in Sattari, Bridge Submerged in Dharbandora

Heavy rainfall across Sattari and Dharbandora talukas on Friday disrupted normal life, with swollen rivers inundating roads, submerging a bridge and flooding low-lying areas following continuous overnight showers. Torrential rain over the Western Ghats led to a sharp rise in the water levels of rivers and streams across Sattari Taluka. Several roads were submerged, forcing authorities to restrict traffic at multiple locations as floodwaters cut off access to several interior areas. The continuous rainfall also caused flooding at the Datta Temple in Pali village, where river water entered the temple premises, leading to waterlogging in the surrounding area. Residents and devotees were advised to avoid the flooded site until water levels recede. Authorities have been closely monitoring the situation and have urged people to stay away from waterlogged roads and riverbanks, warning that river levels could continue to rise if the heavy rainfall persists. In neighbouring Dharbandora Taluka, the bridge over the Ragada River at Deulmol in Sacorda was submerged after heavy overnight rain. The rising river level inundated the bridge, temporarily disrupting the movement of vehicles and pedestrians. Local residents said Dharbandora has been receiving intense rainfall since Thursday evening, resulting in a steady increase in the river's water level. The submerged bridge affected connectivity for nearby villages, with commuters advised to use alternate routes until conditions improve.
