Burgruine Steinenschloss – die Ruine ohne Namen
Deep in the Palatinate Forest, high above the Schwarzbach Valley near Thaleischweiler-Fröschen, lie the silent remains of a castle whose true name has long been forgotten – the Steinenschloss. Probably built around the year 1100, it was one of the oldest fortifications in the western Palatinate. History, adventure, lost places, hiking, photography and drone flights with the “Embrace the Challenge Team.” During the turbulent 12th century, in the reign of Emperor Frederick Barbarossa, it likely fell during his campaign against rebellious nobles. Today, only walls and rock whisper of its former pride. Yet Steinenschloss is more than history – it is legend. Old tales tell of a hidden treasure beneath the tower, concealed by the last lord as the castle burned. And on certain nights, a white lady is said to wander among the ruins – the wife of a knight who fell defending the fortress, waiting for him to return. This video takes you across the ruins on foot and by drone – a journey between history and myth, between stone and memory. A place that, even without a name, never fell completely silent.
