Corso Networking di base- Fondamenti di Reti LAN e Cavi Ethernet: Riassunto e Precisazioni

Brief summary of lesson 1; We discussed layer 1 of the ISO/OSI protocol, and therefore the physical means of transmission. We also looked at the definition of a bit and a byte, and how to best use them to express size and speed in networks, or the size of a file in terms of disk space. We also saw how to understand how long it takes, given a given network speed and file size, to understand file transfer times. In this summary, I further clarify the concept of bits and bytes, and we prepare for the second layer of the ISO/OSI stack, and therefore network interfaces (or network cards) and MAC addresses.
