They were never many. A few hundred men out of a base in Perth, dropped into the worst valleys of Uruzgan. And somehow the Australian SASR became the one thing the Taliban did not want to meet in the dark. This is the real story of why. These were the operators of the Special Operations Task Group, the SASR and 2 Commando, the sharp end of Australia's longest war.
