How to Reach Matheran: By Train: Nearest railway station is Neral, which is well connected from Mumbai (Central Railway line) and Pune. From Neral, you have two options: Matheran Toy Train – a slow but very scenic ride through the forest (around 2 hours). Shared Taxis – available from Neral station to Dasturi Naka (last point where vehicles are allowed). 🚗 By Road: From Mumbai: ~80 km (2.5 to 3 hours drive) via Karjat or Panvel. From Pune: ~120 km (3.5 to 4 hours drive). Private cars are not allowed inside Matheran. You can park at Dasturi Car Parking.
