You NEED Subtext in your Acting
The Craft of Acting | 002 This week I'm talking about SUBTEXT. What is it? How do I find it? And what are things to be cautious of when dealing with it, as an actor? Aaron Sorkin explains in his Masterclass series that every character has an Intention (something they want) and an obstacle (something getting in the way). If this is true, then we can assume that each characters purpose in a scene is to further the story, by attempting to get what they want. When characters hide what they want...that's subtext. That's the good stuff.
