Finding the Absolute Maximum and Minimum
This video shows how to use Calculus to find a function’s absolute maximum and minimum. The process involves the steps for finding an absolute max/min on [a,b]: 1. Find all critical points 2. Evaluate f at all critical points and at the endpoints a, b 3. Absolute maximum is the largest value from Step 2, and the absolute minimum is the smallest value from Step 2 In our example, we have two critical points along with two endpoints to test.
