J. Krishnamurti - Brockwood Park 1977 - Public Talk 3 - What is at the very root of sorrow?
Brockwood Park 1977 - Public Talk 3 - What is at the very root of sorrow? Summary: We must investigate not only personal sorrow but also the sorrow of mankind. Do we deal with the multiple expressions of sorrow or the very root? To do this it is important to observe without distortion. Is the observer different from sorrow? Does the word ‘sorrow’ weigh man down? In understanding the cause of sorrow, does it disappear? Is there suffering if there is no thought at all when you respond to a challenge? Is all sorrow based on the ‘me’? Without understanding the whole of life how can you understand what death is? Can the mind end everything while living? Note: a total of 50 seconds of missing video is replaced by audio only. --- This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America. The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.' We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms. Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world.
