1984 Rugby Union match: South Africa Springboks vs South American Jaguars (1st Test)
The Springboks were still playing rugger despite a lot of setbacks including the controversial 1981 tour of New Zealand. They decided to stay at home and play international matches there. The South American Jaguars were a team consisted of mostly Argentine players with some Brazilian, Chilean, Paraguayan, and Uruguayan players. I don't know why the team was formed. Probably because of the country's apartheid rule that got South African cricket, Olympics, and soccer teams expelled from international play for decades. The Jaguars were led by flyhalf Hugo Porta. The Boks were still strong with Danie Gerber on their side.Cape Coloured Errol Tobias is on the side too. Enjoy the match. Afrikaans commentary.
