LE FORME DELLA SCLEROSI MULTIPLA

Here's a new weekly informative video. Today we'll discuss the forms of Multiple Sclerosis, a well-known topic yet one that remains controversial. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disease with various clinical forms, with onset and progression varying from person to person; for this reason, diagnosing multiple sclerosis is very complex. Experts have identified five forms of MS, each with its own clinical course and specific characteristics. Depending on the type of course, different clinical forms are distinguished: Relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis Secondary progressive multiple sclerosis Primary progressive multiple sclerosis Progressive relapsing multiple sclerosis However, it is not possible to classify the disease into one form rather than another at the first onset of symptoms or the first "relapse." It is very difficult, after an initial clinical manifestation, to understand how it will evolve over time. The clinical course of multiple sclerosis varies from patient to patient and can also change over the course of a single patient's life. It would be wonderful if MS patients could predict when, and in what form, the disease will manifest itself at the next relapse. Unfortunately, we cannot know which area of the central nervous system will be affected, with what intensity, or over what timeframe...
