Maturity is possible only when there is wider and deeper knowing of oneself. One must consider fear totally, not the fragmentary fears in which one is caught. To live with fear and follow its every movement requires an extraordinarily supple mind and heart with no conclusions or formulas. The observer is the past, which touches the living present. The time interval between the observer and the observed comes to an end only when there is another quality which is not of time at all. The observer has a greater value than the thing observed.
