Nonlinear Structural Analysis - Performance Based Design of Tall Buildings (4 of 10)
Presented by Gregory Deierlein, Stanford University. This presentation was part of the 2014 EERI Technical Seminar Series: Performance Based Design: State of Practice for Tall Buildings (San Francisco, 10/29/2014) For the last decade, engineers in major cities along the West Coast have taken advantage of performance based design concepts to achieve structural designs of tall buildings that are not in strict compliance with the International Building Code prescriptive provisions. The speakers in this seminar have all been at the forefront of the evolution of performance based design procedures, whether in industry or academia, and through this seminar series have presented their experiences and state of the art practice in their individual areas of specialization. Funding for the 2014 EERI Technical Seminar Series was provided under a cooperative agreement (EMW-2013-CA-K00164) with FEMA/U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
