Mrs. Johnson's Diary from November 22, 1963. Part 2.
Throughout the Johnson administration, Lady Bird Johnson maintained a diary. When she had quiet time available, she would record her thoughts on a tape and later have the recordings transcribed. As you can see in the photo. she frequently saved clippings, programs, and bits of memorabilia in large envelopes filed by day; she used them to jog her memory when, several days later, she she was able to find the time to record memories of the day. After leaving office, she selected the most interesting days from the transcripts and published them in A White House Diary.
