How to book a night at the bottom of the Grand Canyon at Phantom Ranch

Phantom Ranch is the only lodge in the National Park that's below the rim, at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. But booking an overnight there is quite a bit more complicated than just booking a regular hotel reservation. The process may change over time, but for now, you can book a night by applying for the lottery, or by watching for availability to show up on the general calendar.
