Denis Sassou-N'Guesso was sworn in as President of the Republic of Congo on April 16, 2026, at the Unity Stadium in Kintélé, for a new five-year term. In his inaugural address, the president, re-elected with 94.90% of the vote, thanked the Congolese people for their massive participation in the election and for choosing experience, stability, and continuity. He pledged never to betray the trust the people had placed in him.
