What Is a Plane Wave? — Lesson 2
This video lesson defines a plane wave as a transverse electromagnetic (TEM) wave that is invariant over a plane normal to the direction of propagation. Plane waves are simplified idealizations of electromagnetic waves that make calculations easier and aid in understanding wave behavior. This lesson is part of the Ansys Innovation Course: Electromagnetic Plane Waves. This course was created for Ansys Innovation Courses by Kathryn Leigh Smith, Assistant Professor, UNC-Charlotte in partnership with Ansys.
