Allah Will Inherit It All (Surah Maryam 77–85) | Tadabbur Together (Ep. 5)

We spend so much of our lives chasing wealth, status, recognition, and the things we believe belong to us. In these verses from Surah Maryam (77–85), Allah challenges that assumption entirely. In this video, I reflect on the man who confidently believed he would continue to receive blessings in the Hereafter, and compare him with the owner of the two gardens whose wealth led him to arrogance. Both reveal a subtle danger: believing that what we have is somehow owed to us, earned solely by our own efforts, or guaranteed to remain with us. We also explore Allah's warning about the influence of Shaytan and the unseen forces constantly pushing us toward pride, heedlessness, and self-deception. Yet these verses do not end with a warning, they end with a promise. While people compete for honor, power, wealth, and legacy in this world, Allah reminds us that He will inherit everything they speak of. We will all return to Him alone. And on that Day, true honor will belong to the muttaqun. They will be brought before the Most Merciful as a delegation of honor and distinction. May Allah make us among those whom He honors on the Day when neither wealth nor children will benefit us except through His Mercy.
