Members of the Fukuoka-based idol group HKT48 served as one-day store managers at a convenience store in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture, attracting support from fans. The three HKT48 members who served as one-day store managers at the FamilyMart Sasebo Katsumi-cho store were Kokoro Eguchi, Karen Fukui, and Ayane Ryuto, all from Nagasaki Prefecture. They helped with bagging products, serving customers, and interacting with visiting fans. One visiting fan commented: "I came because my favorite member was the store manager. She worked hard as a store manager and was so cute." FamilyMart has been supporting HKT48, which is deeply rooted in the local community, since 2025 by selling collaborative products with members and opening stores with themed designs. The one-day store manager event was held as part of this support initiative. Starting on the 22nd, "Food Drive Boxes," which deliver donated food to families in need, will be temporarily designed with HKT48 motifs and installed in eight stores across five prefectures in Kyushu. Furthermore, those who donate food will receive a thank-you message from a member. HKT48's Karen Fukui: "This is a great initiative where you can help people in need just by donating. I hope this activity spreads." In Fukui Prefecture, this HKT48-designed Food Drive Box will be installed at the FamilyMart Sasebo Miura-cho store until the end of August.
