ASP's Blog: (http://autoshowcaseproject.blogspot.com/) ASP PRESENTS: USMC Entrenching Tools and Covers The M1910 T handle entrenching shovel was a WW1 design. It was still being manufactured at the DQP and outside contractors during WW2. Several variations of the E-tool and covers were produced even in camouflage. In 1943, a folding shovel was developed with its own cover by the US Army. The Marines adopted the folding shovel for their use.
