Print, Eat, Repeat Ep1: Binder Jetting the Moon

Welcome to the premiere episode of Print, Eat, Repeat, a new video series exploring the fascinating intersection of Arc Impact technology and the culinary world. This series was born from the technical lunch discussions between Erik Almstead and Jonah Myerberg, where they frequently dive into the weeds of additive manufacturing over a good meal. From large-scale production opportunities to unique, one-off specialized batches, we’re covering the full spectrum of what’s possible with our technology. In This Episode: We take a deep dive into a truly out-of-this-world project: Binder Jetting the Moon. The Collaboration: Discover how Arc Impact worked with world-renowned artist Jeff Koons to create 125 "Mini Moons" for his Moon Phases art installation. The Mission: These stainless steel sculptures were launched aboard the Intuitive Machines Odysseus spacecraft and landed on the lunar surface in February 2024. Technical Challenges: Jonah and Erik discuss the uncompromising detail required by the artist, replicating every crater and mountain of the lunar surface—and the engineering hurdles of creating hollow, lightweight parts to meet strict space launch requirements. The "Eat" Segment: Staying true to the lunar theme, we’re fueling up with "Moon Pizza" from Blue Moon Pizzeria in Norwell, MA. We're putting their famous Sweet Buffalo Chicken pizza to the test to see if it's truly "out of this world."
