BOAT LIFE: A rainy day in the LIFE of a SAILOR [EP 111]

Boat life is not all sunshine, rainbows and endless beaches. During rainy season in the Caribbean, it often gets.. well, rainy! We show what it's really like to live aboard a sailboat full time - even on the stormy days! It differs a lot from being back on land where we mostly hibernated inside and played games for most of the day. Knowing that we can move our home, we decided to change anchorages before the rain hit. We had a bit of an unusual and hilarious anchor retrieval and then headed on our way to Morne Rouge, a bay to the south of us. The delay in hauling anchor meant that we got hit half way by a torrential downpour but laughing our way through and getting a free shower, we finally got to anchor. A quick breakfast and an episode upload later and we ran out on deck collecting water and fill up our tanks. We often forget how simple life is or needs to be when you live on a sailboat... especially when at the end of the day you jump for joy when you realize you can have a long and HOT shower - the first in a long time!
