Why do your selvedges get tighter as you weave, or loose their tension altogether?
As weavers we are all a little bit obsessive about our selvedges. One of the commonest reasons for dodgy selvedges reverts back to the beaming of our warp. Check your warp roller and make sure that you warp is wound on evenly. If the warp on the roller is shaped like a cigar, then you are going to have tension issues in your weaving as your progress. I hope that this video goes some way towards explaining one of the commonest problems we experience as weavers. There is no quick fix for this issue, but a little understanding of the cause will go a long way!
