On February 24, Andriy*'s apartment became a gathering point for Ukrainian partisans in Kherson: "We thought it would be terrible in Kherson, that we would douse Russian armored vehicles with gasoline and shoot them from the roofs with RPGs. Everything turned out not as expected." After the occupation of Kherson, Andrii and his friends organized an underground network of informers, adjusters and subversives. First, Andriy had to collect the coordinates of the movement of Russian equipment and transfer them to the Ukrainian military. Later, he began to collect information on the basis of which others planted explosives and blew up local collaborators. This lasted until July 29. On that day, Andrii was kidnapped from the conspiratorial apartment and taken to the Main Police Department in the Kherson region, where the Russians kept Kherson citizens in the basement. Vlad was interrogated, tortured with electric shock and water, and beaten with sticks so that he would hand over other members of the underground.
