#pyrosim #hydrogen #strathkorean #strathclyde #marineengineering #gasdispersion #cfd Step-by-step tutorial for simulating hydrogen gas leaks using PyroSim, Part 2 (Using wind profile/mesh split/ramp-up time) After briefly reviewing the basic leak conditions (leak rate 2 m/s, wind 2 m/s) and parametric study results based on wind speed variations from the previous tutorial, this video focuses on three key features: 1️⃣ Wind Profile Function Defines wind speeds that change over time using linear interpolation (ramp function). Compares with fixed wind speed conditions to analyze gas diffusion behaviors that closely resemble real-world conditions. Visually compares hydrogen concentration distribution and diffusion patterns as wind speed increases. 2️⃣ Mesh Split Function Divides the computational domain to locally improve grid resolution. Compares results before and after mesh splitting under identical conditions. Explains the impact of grid resolution on hydrogen concentration prediction and diffusion patterns. Introduces the concept of grid sensitivity through an ABS guideline example. 3️⃣ Vent/Leak Rate Control (Ramp-up & Ramp-down) Models scenarios in which leaks increase and decrease over time. Physically analyzes valve opening, rupture growth, blocking, and depressurization processes. Explains how to calculate actual leak rates over time using linear interpolation.
