Chasing Her for 20 Mins, But My Legs Gave Out | 40K POV

Chasing from the very back of the pack! I started from the literal last row (93rd) at the "Around Toki River Middle 40K" trail race in Ogose, Saitama, Japan. The plan was simple: Pass as many runners as possible. Everything went smoothly in the first half, and I even found a great rival in a maroon shirt to battle with for a while (turns out she was running the Long course!). But the mountains are never that easy. On the final 400m peak, my legs completely cramped up, and I watched the runners I passed earlier catch right back up. Ended up finishing 31st out of 93 runners. Hope you enjoy the raw POV journey of the highs and lows of trail running! [ Race Stats ] Distance: 40.7km/25.3mi. Total Elevation: 1,948m/6,391ft.
