Lecture 66 FTTH Installation And Test
This FOA lecture is about Fiber to the Home Installation and Test. It provides an overview of the installation methods used for FTTH and covers the special test requirements of PONs using splitters. FOA created its first lecture on Fiber to the Home/Premises/Curb/Business/etc. soon after we were asked to create a FTTH training program and help recruit contractors and installers for Verizon's new FiOS FTTH project. After all that time, the description of FTTH in Lecture 25 is still valid, but new technology in PONSs like 10G PON, and components such as cables, closures and prefab cabling, have made major improvements in the performance, cost and installation of FTTH networks. To update the original FOA Lecture 25, we have chosen to create 4 new lectures #63 to 66 covering FTTH architectures, PONs, FTTH network design and FTTH installation and test. We think you will find these updates useful.
