Feeding 10 Million Children—And Saving the Planet in the Process
Using Natural Farming to help solve the world's problems may seem illogical at first. However, Madhusudan Sai’s method began by scaling up a free food program to feed 10 million school children every day. The organization purchased grains directly from local farmers—the very parents of the children being fed. Then, he approached them with a proposal: "Since the grains we purchase from you are used to feed your own children, could you grow them organically? In return, we will buy them from you at a higher price." Motivated by their children's well-being and the financial incentive, all the farmers agreed to transition to organic methods. The ultimate result is a powerful ripple effect: the food supply is cleared of harmful chemicals, the Earth's soil is saved, and humanity is protected.
