Nandi Hills, is an ancient hill station built by Ganga Dynasty in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state. It is 10 km from Chickballapur town and approximately 60 km from Bengaluru. Arkavathy river,Ponnaiyar River, Palar River,Papagni River and Penna River are believed to be originating from Nandi Hills which is 4851 ft above sea level. Sunrise at Nandi Hills is a spectacular experience. Nandi Hills is also a popular historical fortress that is home to a number of temples, monuments and shrines. There are view points constructed which gives a breathtaking view of the hillock. Entry to hill top using private vehicles are restricted. Bus facility is available from entry gate to hilltop. Accommodation at hilltop is available, on advance booking are provided by Tourism department. Entry starts at 06AM. One have to depend own transportation to reach this place for watching Sunrise.
