Welcome back to my channel!! 😍 Today I'm offering you a sequence designed for those with diastasis recti, but it's a great way to become aware of the work of the transversus abdominis and the support this muscle provides your body. 😉 Diastasis recti is a permanent separation of the rectus abdominis muscles and occurs in various situations, most commonly during pregnancy. The abdominal muscles move apart to make room for the fetus, and after delivery, they come together again along the linea alba, the connective tissue that runs along the navel line. Sometimes, a gap remains between the rectus abdominis muscles, which can cause discomfort such as hiatal hernias or lower back pain. This condition can be treated with surgery, and if you suspect you have diastasis abdominis but haven't confirmed it, consult your doctor immediately to assess your condition. The sequence proposed here, however, works conservatively on strengthening the transversus abdominis, the broad and deep muscle of the abdomen. By working this muscle consistently, you can try to bring the rectus abdominis closer together. You can use this short workout even if you don't have a diastasis rectus, simply to become aware of how the transverse abdominis works and to add quality to your Pilates practice.
