After hearing Above & Beyond play this mashup during their EDC Las Vegas sunrise set recently, I instantly knew I had to recreate my own version of it. So here it is. “Beautiful Man on Fire” combines the emotional vocals of OceanLab’s timeless classic “Beautiful Together” with the latest Anjunabeats release from J Ribbon, “Man on Fire”. And honestly? These two tracks fit together surprisingly well. This mashup is made purely as a tribute to the classic and modern eras of Anjunabeats, blending the emotional energy of 2003 with the uplifting production style of 2026. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ BACKSTORY: The moment I heard the vocal of “Beautiful Together” layered over “Man on Fire” during the EDC Las Vegas set, I immediately got flashbacks to the golden era of Anjunabeats mashups from the mid-2000s. Back then, unofficial mashups and bootlegs were everywhere within the trance community. Fans would recreate live edits from Above & Beyond sets, forum exclusives, and radio IDs that never officially got released. That era inspired me heavily while making this mashup. Originally, I planned to use the radio edit of “Man on Fire”, but after testing it out, I realised it simply felt too short and rushed. The extended mix gave me much more room to work with — especially for transitions, vocal placement, breakdowns, and emotional progression. Using the full extended mix also helped preserve the classic Anjunabeats atmosphere that many longtime fans still love to this day.
