Gibran made this statement during his visit to Asmat, South Papua, on Sunday (June 21, 2026). Gibran offered his prayers for the two suspects in the diploma theft case involving the 7th President Joko Widodo after hearing that Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa were being treated at the National Police Hospital. Gibran prayed for Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa's speedy recovery. "Because yesterday, I was with them both, who were treated at the National Police Hospital. I hope they get well soon, I hope they recover quickly," he said when met in Asmat, South Papua, on Sunday (June 21, 2026). Gibran expressed his hope that all parties would follow the full legal process. He also offered his best wishes to Roy Suryo and Doctor Tifa. "And most importantly, we pray for the best for Mr. Roy Suryo and Dr. Tifa," he said. As is known, Roy Suryo and Dr. Tifa were hospitalized at the Kramat Jati National Police Hospital after undergoing a medical examination on Friday afternoon (June 19, 2026). Roy Suryo and Dr. Tifa's legal team, Refly Harun, stated that both were treated at the National Police Hospital based on a doctor's recommendation. Refly stated that Dr. Tifa had a relapse of a pre-existing condition, including GERD. This was triggered by stress and Dr. Tifa's exhaustion and lack of food since her arrest on Friday morning (June 19). Refly did not specify Roy Suryo's illness. He only stated that he had a pre-existing, fairly common health condition, which led the doctor to determine that he needed medical supervision at the hospital and could not immediately return to detention. Refly also emphasized that the decision to hospitalize him was not requested by his legal team or his client.
