The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that it targeted the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet and the Juffair base in Bahrain with missiles and drones, claiming to have destroyed Patriot air defense systems, drone boat control centers, and weapons depots. This was in retaliation for US strikes on Iranian bases in the south of the country. Concurrently with this military escalation, the Iranian parliament held its first public session to discuss a draft law submitted by the National Security Committee to impose full Iranian control and administration over the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf. The draft law includes regulating shipping lanes and collecting transit and service fees from ships and tankers.
