The world is excited about the Insight, but since I have no chance of driving it, I decided to vent my frustrations by driving the previous-generation Fit HV. It's the second-generation Fit and the first-generation hybrid. I reviewed the current Fit Hybrid two years ago and remember being impressed by the direct feel of the dual-clutch transmission, its high agility, and its class-leading utility. While the first-generation Fit HV lacks interior space compared to the current model, it offers comparable utility compared to the conventional model. Its well-balanced styling and exclusive HV color scheme are appealing, making it a car that truly broke into the Corolla's stronghold.
