We Tore Our Airplane Completely Apart

The project reaches another major milestone. After months of planning, painting, and rebuilding the fuselage, it's finally time to tear down N85917 and begin restoring the wings. In this episode, we completely disassemble the flying aircraft, removing the control surfaces and preparing every component for its next stage of restoration. From taking apart the wings to tackling smaller sandblasting projects and inspecting decades-old hardware, every step brings us one step closer to recovering the wings and reassembling the airplane. Although this episode isn't filled with glamorous moments, it's one of the most important phases of the entire restoration. Careful organization, inspection, and preparation now will make all the difference when it's time to put N85917 back together. As always, this project is being completed under the supervision of a certified A&P IA, ensuring every repair and modification is performed safely and to the appropriate standards. A huge thank you to everyone who has continued to help make this restoration possible: Jack Albright Harvey Davies And to everyone following along with the series—your support continues to make this project possible.
