In this episode, we travel in our converted Ford transit campervan, to Kangaroo Valley, NSW, Australia. We stayed two nights at Holiday Haven Kangaroo Valley Caravan Park. Kangaroo Valley Sweet As Valley Vintage Friendly Inn Hotel Kangaroo Valley Pioneer Museum Holiday Haven Kangaroo Valley Caravan Park Fitzroy Falls KANGAROO VALLEY Kangaroo Valley is nestled between the Southern Highlands and NSW South Coast, about two hours' drive from both Sydney and Canberra. The town has Australia's last surviving wooden suspension bridge with rainforest spilling down the escarpment. The area is popular for kayaking, bushwalk and waterfalls. Dating back to 1870, Kangaroo Valley's main street evokes a sense of country charm, with its tea rooms and heritage-listed pub, The Friendly Inn. You can learn about local colonial history at the Kangaroo Valley Pioneer Village Museum or follow the Kangaroo Valley Historic Village Walk which takes in the historic Hampden Bridge with its large sandstone turrets. FITZROY FALLS Fitzroy Falls is less than 20kms from Kangaroo Valley. The amazing waterfall has water plunging over 80m to the valley below. It’s an ideal base to explore the lush escarpment country of the Southern Highlands between Robertson and Nowra. There is an information center, restrooms and wheelchair-accessible facilities. We enjoy part-time van life, creating weekly episodes that are live at 5pm (AEST) Sundays, and sharing our experiences on our travels with our cavoodle, Twyla.
