URA Arrests Fake Officers, Warns Taxpayers to Stay Vigilant

Officials from the government tax collection body, the Uganda Revenue Authority, have arrested a group of people accused of impersonating URA staff and extorting money from members of the public. The suspects had been posing as URA officials and collecting taxes from citizens despite not being employees of the authority. They were reportedly being assisted by security personnel from the national army, the Uganda People's Defence Force, and were found with fake URA identity cards.
