The Rocío Brotherhood of El Puerto began its journey to the village of Almonte this Wednesday to participate in the Rocío Pilgrimage. Nearly 500 pilgrims from El Puerto de Santa María departed from the parish church of San Joaquín on a day filled with devotion, Sevillanas music, tambourines, and the Rocío atmosphere throughout the city streets. After the traditional pilgrims' mass at the Hermitage of Los Caminantes, the procession continued its route through various emblematic locations in El Puerto before heading to Sanlúcar de Barrameda to embark for the journey to the sands of El Coto.
