Unpacking the Kenya Persons with Disabilities Act 2025 | Inclusive Africa Conference 2025

The signing of the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Act 2025 into law established a comprehensive legal framework for the rights and protection of persons with disabilities (PWDs), aligned with the Kenyan Constitution and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The new law aims to ensure persons with disabilities (PWDs) have equal opportunities in areas such as education, employment, healthcare, and economic participation. This session, moderated by Julius Mbura, unpacks the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Act 2025 to identify opportunities, action points, and collaborations necessary for the rapid implementation of the law. We will share best practices from ongoing efforts across the continent to develop and implement policies in support of persons with disabilities.
