In this second episode of my journey through Évora, I leave the monuments behind to discover what many consider to be the true soul of the Alentejo region: its food. From the peaceful atmosphere of the Évora Olive Hotel and a relaxed breakfast, to the traditional flavors of Café Alentejo and a wine tasting experience at Enoteca Cartuxa, this video is a journey through the tastes, aromas, and traditions of one of Portugal’s most authentic regions. Throughout the video, I try some of the most iconic dishes of Alentejo cuisine, including migas with pork, braised oxtail, pickled partridge, and cod flakes with shoestring potatoes and fried egg, all paired with excellent regional wines.
