How to Go Upriver with Canoe Poling

Under the correct circumstances poling can be the easiest, fastest way to go upriver. In this video you'll learn what kind of rivers you can ascend, what you should use as a pole, the techniques to use, and how to do it safely. I've used poling to ascend many rivers, most notably the Fond du Lac in Saskatchewan and the Albany/Kenogami in northern Ontario, trips that would have been MUCH more difficult without using this technique.
