2026 Genesis G80 Review | Puts BMW To Shame?
2026 Genesis G80 Sport Prestige review! In this video, I'll talk about what the G80 is from a technical standpoint, how I feel about the interior space, and what it's like to drive it! Midsize sedans, like the Genesis G80 are great dailies - comfortable, spacious, and still have somewhat reasonable driving dynamics. I mean, now everyone has moved on to SUVs because “bigger is better.” But here’s the thing: after spending time with this G80, it does so much right that I wouldn’t even bother getting an SUV, unless you absolutely need an enormous cargo area. The G80 sits on a dedicated rear-wheel-drive architecture, so that’s a huge plus for enthusiasts. We have a multi-link suspension front and back, which comes either with passive, non-adaptive dampers, or optional adaptive dampers, which can prepare the chassis for impacts ahead of you, using data from the GPS and camera. Under the hood, we have 2 choices: 300 hp 2.5L turbo-4 2.5T 375 hp 3.5L twin-turbo V6 3.5T I can already tell you, go with the V6 if you can fit it in your budget, because it’s much more refined, smoother, and better fits the character of this car. Plus, we get an e-LSD, variable gear ratio steering, and a rear axle steering, which improve driving dynamics and make it a little bit more enjoyable to drive. We always have an 8-speed conventional automatic on board, and with the rear-wheel drive model being gone, we can only get the G80 with a rear-biased AWD system. The G80 starts around $59,000 for a 4-cylinder 2.5T, but and with the V6 variant that we’re testing, which comes as a Sport Prestige you’re looking at about $80,000. Lease payments will range from $500 a month to around $900. Other cars to consider are a Genesis G70, Genesis G80, BMW 5 series, Lexus ES 350, Genesis GV80, Mercedes E Class, Infiniti Q50, Kia Stinger, Cadillac CT5, Audi A6, Dodge Charger, Acura TLX. 00:00 - Intro 00:27 - About the G80 02:42 - Interior Impressions 05:36 - Driving Impressions (POV) 12:32 - Final Thoughts Specs: Engine: 3.5L twin-turbo V6 | 375 hp | 391 lb-ft of torque Transmission: 8-speed automatic | AWD Color: Vatna Gray Price as tested: $79,845 #genesis #genesisg80 #g80 #review #pov #night #cars Follow me on Instagram and TikTok @tom.swiatek
